Finance Minister visits Capito

Capito received an important visitor earlier today when Cabinet Secretary for Finance and the Constitution, Derek Mackay MSP, dropped in to find out about the work we do with young people and various vocational programmes.

“IT businesses, such as Capito, are central to economic demand.”

Mr Mackay MSP spent time talking to two of our younger recruits who joined the business through West Lothian Council’s StepsN2Work programme.

Caitlin (Mowbray), who initially wanted to be a hairdresser, joined Capito in July 2012 as an Administration Assistant and has since completed a Business and Administration apprenticeship gaining her SVQ Level 6.

Caitlin said that working at Capito has helped to grow both her confidence and communication skills.

Tiegan (Brown) left school at the end of 4th year in 2015 to work as a nursery apprentice but then found out about the the StepsN2 Work programme where she applied to work at Capito because the job sounded like something she wanted to do.

Tiegan has gained more skills in IT and dealing with customers on a daily basis since she joined in May 2016. She has also started her SCQFL6 in Business and Administration.

Alan Middleton, Managing Director, said: “We have a combination of long-standing employees and new starts like Caitlin and Tiegan who all bring different skills and benefits to the business.”
